Wedding Photography in Banff and Canmore by Ingo Kalk. Photographic Impressions by Ingo Kalk provides professional photographic services for your wedding in the Banff, Canmore, Lake Louise or Kananaskis Country area - at the gates to Banff National Park - 100 km west of Calgary. Ingo has been taking wedding photos in Canmore since 1989. He used medium-format cameras until the beginning of 2004, when he switched totally to digital photographic equipment. The ability to totally control the quality of the final wedding pictures made the switch from film to digital easy.

abound in the Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise and Kananaskis Country area. All photo locations are easy to get to - no hiking on dirty trails - unless you so desire to get to some special spot. I suggest for some locations to wear an old pair of runners if the trail should be in rough shape. Not to worry, this only applies to 1 or 2 trails that might be a little too rough for most brides.

I would love to take the photos for your wedding in the Banff and Canmore area. Lake Louise and Kananaskis Country are also very popular locations for
weddings in the area. They all feature the beautiful Rocky Mountain scenery for a backdrop. Wedding photos with an emphasis on the gorgeous landscape have been
professionally taken by me here since 1989. Numerous places for your outdoor wedding portraits abound in the Banff National Park, Kananaskis Country and Canmore area.
The Canmore Nordic Centre, built for the 1988 Winter Olympic Games, is another favourite venue for many weddings. The Nakoda Lodge and the Rafter 6 Guest Ranch, both just a short 35 km from Canmore, also attract a lot of wedding parties.

These photos were all 'spur-of-the-moment' shots, which were not posed - they just happened. I cannot plan for these kind of photos, they usually develop after extended shooting when everybody is relaxed and seem to just forget, that the camera is still there. That is usually the time when I get a totally relaxed bride and groom, and we get those fun pictures.

If you get married in the winter months, please keep in mind the time of day. It gets dark here very early amongst the mountains. All the outdoor photos should probably be finished by 3:30 to 4 p. m. I suggest for wedding photos in the winter for the bride to wear some type of warm shawl (fleece lined perhaps - it's not noticeable!) and warm boots under the gown. Do not worry, they will not show in the photos...

These photos are my favourite. The bride and groom seem to forget that somebody else is around, and they are totally concentrating on each other. The camera is there to capture those special moments.
